I have been designing full time since 2001. Soon after graduating college with a degree in Home Economics (yes, that is really a major), I gratefully stumbled into the world of graphic and document design. I worked for a couple of years at an environmental documentation company, and had the privilege to create documentation for SeaWorld San Diego, several wastewater treatment plants in San Diego, and the largest aquarium in Europe, Parque Oceanografico.
I then spent about six years in the printing industry, designing everything from business cards to billboards. I have worked at quick-print shops as well as sheetfed litho and large-format printing operations where I performed graphic design, preflight, prepress, and Adobe application training. For each one of my employers, I served as the on-site trainer, for both clients and her fellow employees, transitioning them to the latest Adobe software, as well as setting up master templates and file spec sheets. Within three years of beginning my career, I earned Adobe Expert Certification for InDesign CS, and have maintained my expert certification since 2004. I currently hold Adobe Expert Certifications for both InDesign CS4 and Illustrator CS4.
In addition to my freelance designing, I have my own marine publishing company, writing and designing owner's manuals for some of the country's largest and most respected sportfishing yacht builders.
I have a passion for excellent typography, vector art, clean layouts, streamlined production, perfectly prepped files, and dachshunds.
My husband Steve has had the privilege of serving in full time minstry since 1996. As a pastor and musician, he has first hand experience with sound system design and installation, recording, motion graphics, and video editing.
As a team, we are both technical and creative, left brained and right brained. Working together, we can offer such services as creative logo design and artistic motion graphics; highly complicated forms design and document template creation.
